What you'll do

Provide technical guidance and direction to business teams, contractors, and vendors.
Design, develop, and troubleshoot software solutions using Java, Python, and Node.js in distributed cloud environments.
Write secure, high-quality production code while performing peer code reviews and debugging.
Manage software development within AWS and Kubernetes environments considering upstream and downstream impacts.
Drive the adoption and governance of AI-assisted engineering practices to improve code quality and delivery speed.
Establish measurable validation standards for AI-generated outputs including security, performance, and automated testing.
Influence product design, application functionality, and technical operations across the organization.
Serve as a subject matter expert and advocate for firmwide frameworks and SDLC tools.

What we're looking for

Formal training or certification on software engineering concepts and 5+ years of applied experience.
Proficiency in Java or Python as a primary development language for large corporate environments.
Experience with database querying languages and the full Software Development Life Cycle.
Hands-on experience using enterprise-authorized AI-assisted software development tools to code, test, troubleshoot, and document.
Understanding of responsible AI use, including data sensitivity, security expectations, and coaching others on compliant usage patterns.
Working knowledge of containerization (Kubernetes, Docker) and AWS cloud environments.
Experience with Node.js for backend or full-stack development (preferred).
Exposure to infrastructure-as-code tools like Terraform or AWS CloudFormation (preferred).
