What you'll do

Build and modernize platforms for alternative investments using Java and Spring Boot.
Re-platform critical applications from on-premises environments to AWS cloud-native services.
Design distributed integration patterns using messaging and event streaming services like Kafka.
Develop secure production code and perform code reviews and debugging for other team members.
Drive the adoption and governance of enterprise-authorized AI-assisted engineering practices.
Establish validation standards for AI outputs regarding correctness, performance, and security.
Provide technical guidance and direction to business teams, contractors, and vendors.
Influence product design, application functionality, and technical operations processes.

What we're looking for

Formal training or certification on software engineering concepts and 5+ years of applied experience.
Proven hands-on experience delivering system design, application development, testing, and operational stability in production environments.
Advanced proficiency in Java for enterprise backend development with practical experience building services using Spring Boot.
Hands-on experience designing, building, and operating integrations using messaging and/or event streaming services like Kafka or AWS MSK.
Practical, hands-on cloud-native experience, specifically building and operating services in an AWS environment.
Demonstrated experience leading the use of enterprise-authorized AI-assisted software development tools and setting validation standards for outputs.
Strong understanding of responsible AI use in engineering workflows, including data sensitivity and secure handling of inputs/outputs.
Reactive programming experience (e.g., Reactor) and financial services or alternatives domain experience (preferred).
