What you'll do

Lead the development and modernization of platforms supporting alternative investments using Java and Spring Boot.
Re-platform critical applications from on-premises environments to cloud-native AWS services.
Design and implement distributed integration patterns, including messaging and event streaming for improved scalability.
Develop secure, high-quality production code while reviewing and debugging code written by other team members.
Drive the adoption and governance of enterprise-authorized AI-assisted development tools across engineering teams.
Establish validation standards for AI outputs to ensure correctness, performance, and security in the software lifecycle.
Provide technical guidance and direction to business teams, contractors, and vendors.
Act as a subject matter expert to influence product design, application functionality, and technical operations.

What we're looking for

Formal training or certification on software engineering concepts and 5+ years of applied experience.
Proven hands-on experience in system design, application development, testing, and operational stability in production environments.
Advanced proficiency in Java for enterprise backend development with practical experience building services using Spring Boot.
Hands-on experience designing and operating integrations using messaging or event streaming services like Kafka, AWS MSK, SQS/SNS, or Kinesis.
Practical hands-on cloud-native experience specifically within an AWS environment.
Demonstrated experience leading the use of enterprise-authorized AI-assisted development tools while ensuring security and performance standards.
Strong understanding of responsible AI usage in engineering workflows including data sensitivity and secure handling of inputs/outputs.
Reactive programming experience (preferred); financial services or wealth/alternatives domain experience (preferred).
