What you'll do

Design and deliver cloud-native architectures for firmwide platforms to ensure secure, scalable, and resilient systems.
Lead complex technical initiatives from discovery through delivery while establishing engineering standards and reusable patterns.
Develop backend services, GraphQL/REST APIs, and React micro-frontends using Java, Python, or Go.
Manage content discovery features including Lucene-based search, documentation hosting, and automated publishing pipelines.
Mentor engineers through design reviews, code reviews, and guidance on system design and best practices.
Enforce non-functional standards such as security, performance, observability, and cost efficiency across the SDLC.
Drive the adoption of AI-assisted engineering practices to improve code quality and delivery speed.
Partner with stakeholders to translate business goals into technical roadmaps and measurable product metrics.

What we're looking for

Formal training or certification in software engineering concepts.
Applied experience in software engineering.
Proven expertise in distributed system design, application architecture, and technical leadership.
Proficiency in Java, JavaScript/TypeScript, and Python to deliver GraphQL and REST APIs.
Experience with cloud-native architectures (AWS ECS/Fargate, SNS, SQS, Lambda, API Gateway, S3) and multi-region resiliency.
Demonstrated experience leading the use of AI-assisted software development tools while ensuring security and performance.
Strong understanding of agile methodologies, CI/CD pipelines, and non-functional requirements like observability and cost efficiency.
Ability to mentor engineers, lead design reviews, and align technical decisions with business outcomes.
