What you'll do

Own platform-level architecture and technical strategy to ensure secure, scalable, and resilient cloud-native solutions.
Lead complex technical initiatives from discovery through delivery while establishing engineering standards and reusable patterns.
Design and implement backend services, GraphQL APIs, and React UIs using Module Federation micro-frontends.
Manage content discovery capabilities including Lucene-based full-text search and content authoring pipelines.
Write high-quality, secure code in Java Spring Boot, React.js, GraphQL, Python, and Go.
Mentor engineers through design reviews, code reviews, and hands-on guidance on system design and best practices.
Enforce non-functional standards for security, performance, availability, and cost efficiency across the SDLC.
Drive adoption of approved AI-assisted engineering practices to improve code quality and delivery velocity.

What we're looking for

Formal training or certification on software engineering concepts and applied experience.
Proven expertise in distributed system design, application architecture, and technical leadership for cross-team initiatives.
Demonstrated experience leading the use of approved AI-assisted software development tools and ensuring responsible AI use.
Hands-on proficiency in Java, JavaScript/TypeScript, and Python with experience designing GraphQL and REST APIs.
Deep experience with cloud-native architectures (e.g., AWS ECS/Fargate, SNS, SQS, Lambda, API Gateway, S3) and the full SDLC.
Strong understanding of agile methodologies, CI/CD, application resiliency, and security.
Demonstrated ability to mentor engineers, lead design reviews, and align technical decisions with business outcomes.
Advanced knowledge in one or more technical disciplines such as cloud, AI/ML, mobile, or data platforms.
Infrastructure as Code expertise using Terraform (preferred).
Experience with relational/distributed databases, video streaming, or content management platforms (preferred).
Experience with static site generators (Hugo), Lucene search, and micro-frontends via Module Federation (preferred).
