Lead Software Engineer, Full Stack

What you'll do

• Lead the architecture and creation of an AI-first Developer Portal experience for agent-ready workflows.
• Build and operate AI-enabled support experiences featuring workflow automation and contextual troubleshooting signals.
• Design and deliver secure external API platforms using contract-first design, versioning strategies, and idempotency.
• Own authentication and credential workflows for external integrations, including certificate handling and rotation.
• Establish engineering standards for AI production systems, including evaluation strategies, telemetry, and audit logging.
• Perform hands-on coding, architecture reviews, and debugging for critical-path software components.
• Drive the adoption of enterprise-authorized AI-assisted engineering practices to improve code quality and delivery speed.
• Coach and develop engineers on design rigor, delivery discipline, and technical growth.

What we're looking for

• Formal training or certification in software engineering concepts and 8+ years of applied experience.
• Demonstrated experience coaching and mentoring engineers.
• Hands-on experience building and operating distributed systems at scale.
• Experience leading software engineering teams to deliver complex platforms and products with measurable outcomes.
• Experience leading the use of approved AI-assisted software development tools and validating AI outputs for correctness, performance, and security.
• Strong hands-on backend development experience, specifically in Java or other modern backend stacks.
• Proven expertise building external-facing APIs and integration platforms using contract-first design and security controls.
• Strong security fundamentals including OAuth2/OIDC, mTLS, PKI/certificates, secrets management, and threat modeling.
• Experience building AI-enabled product capabilities in production, including grounded retrieval, tool execution, and guardrails.
• Proficiency in automation, continuous delivery methods, and modern SDLC practices.
• Strong understanding of application resiliency, observability, performance engineering, and incident management.
• Experience working in regulated environments with strong controls and compliance requirements (preferred).
• Developer portal or developer-experience platform experience (preferred).
• Experience building workflow/orchestration systems (preferred).
• Search and relevance experience (preferred).
• Cloud-native delivery experience and event-driven architectures (preferred).
• Prior payments, treasury, or broader financial-services platform experience (preferred).
