As a Lead Software Engineer - Full Stack - Java/React/AWS, you will join the Consumer & Community Banking Administration - Becoming A Customer team. You will serve as a core technical contributor responsible for designing, developing, testing, and troubleshooting full-stack software solutions to create secure, scalable products. Your daily work involves building and maintaining production code across frontend and backend systems, operating scalable APIs, and creating responsive user experiences. You will lead system design for complex initiatives, drive the adoption of AI-assisted engineering practices, and improve CI/CD processes and automated quality controls. The role requires expertise in Java, React, and AWS, along with skills in component-based UI, API integration, and distributed systems. You will solve technical challenges within the customer onboarding and account acquisition domain to create integrated journeys across web and mobile channels.

What you'll do

Design, develop, test, and troubleshoot full-stack software solutions for complex technical problems.
Write, review, and debug secure, high-quality production code across frontend and backend systems.
Drive the adoption of enterprise-authorized AI-assisted engineering practices to improve code quality and delivery speed.
Lead system and application design for complex initiatives while maintaining architecture artifacts throughout the SDLC.
Develop and operate scalable APIs and services that provide responsive, accessible user experiences.
Improve system resiliency, availability, and performance through incident response and preventative engineering.
Automate recurring tasks and improve developer productivity by evolving CI/CD practices and release processes.
Lead engineering communities of practice to promote modern technologies and best practices.

What we're looking for

Formal training or certification on software engineering concepts.
5+ years of experience delivering production systems, including both frontend and backend development.
Advanced proficiency in one or more programming languages for building web applications, APIs, and services.
Proficiency in modern web development (component-based UI, API integration) and backend engineering fundamentals.
Proficiency in automation, continuous delivery methods, and Agile delivery practices.
Proficiency in all aspects of the SDLC, including secure development practices.
Strong understanding of application resiliency, reliability, security, and cross-functional communication.
Experience with cloud-native patterns, observability, mentoring, financial services, or AI/ML applications (preferred).
