Senior Lead Software Engineer, AI Development

What you'll do

• Take end-to-end ownership of software products from initial design through deployment and production support.
• Build and scale core platform capabilities including data ingestion pipelines and dependency analysis services.
• Write production-quality Java code for services, APIs, and data pipelines on AWS.
• Use AI and agentic development tools to develop, review, and debug secure production code.
• Drive the adoption and governance of approved AI-assisted engineering practices across engineering teams.
• Influence product design, application functionality, and technical operations through high-level decision-making.
• Serve as a subject matter expert on firmwide frameworks and Software Development Life Cycle tools.

What we're looking for

• Formal training or certification on software engineering concepts and 5+ years of applied experience.
• Advanced proficiency in Java.
• Hands-on experience delivering data-intensive system design, application development, testing, and operational stability.
• Experience building core platform capabilities including data ingestion pipelines and dependency analysis services.
• Practical cloud-native experience with AWS services like Lambda, S3, and RDS.
• Demonstrated experience leading the use of enterprise-authorized AI-assisted software development tools and validating AI outputs.
• Strong understanding of responsible AI use in engineering workflows, including data sensitivity and security.
• Experience with Greenfield architecture (preferred).
• Experience delivering AI/ML solutions in financial services, capital markets, or operations-focused environments (preferred).
• Experience working in highly regulated environments with strong model risk, governance, or control expectations (preferred).
• Experience designing scalable system architectures for AI products and platforms across multiple stakeholder groups (preferred).
