As a Senior Lead Software Engineer - AI Engineer within the Consumer and Community Banking - Digital Technology team, you will join an agile group focused on building secure, stable, and scalable technology products. You will be responsible for creating complex coding frameworks, developing high-quality production code, and reviewing peer contributions. A primary focus involves architecting and governing agentic AI-enabled engineering workflows to improve delivery speed, code quality, and operational outcomes while establishing guardrails for security and reuse. You will serve as a subject matter expert, advising cross-functional teams on technical matters and defining enterprise-scale, AI-enabled architectures for next-generation customer experiences. Required skills include over five years of experience in system design, application development, and testing. You must be an expert in at least one programming language with practical cloud native experience and a deep understanding of responsible AI usage.
Create complex, scalable coding frameworks using appropriate software design patterns.
Develop secure, high-quality production code and perform peer code reviews and debugging.
Architect and govern agentic AI-enabled engineering workflows to improve delivery speed and code quality.
Define guardrails for the validation, security, and resiliency of AI-assisted development tools.
Serve as a subject matter expert and advisor on technical matters to cross-functional teams.
Create durable, reusable software frameworks that are utilized across multiple teams and functions.
Define enterprise-scale, AI-enabled architectures for next-generation customer experiences.
Collaborate with product and engineering teams to define roadmaps and solution architectures.
What we're looking for
Formal training or certification on software engineering concepts and 5+ years of applied experience.
Hands-on practical experience delivering system design, application development, testing, and operational stability.
Expert proficiency in one or more programming languages.
Demonstrated experience designing and leading adoption of agentic AI-enabled development practices across teams.
Strong understanding of responsible AI use, including security, resiliency, and risk-based governance in engineering workflows.
Experience applying expertise to solve complex technology problems in one or more technical disciplines.
Practical cloud native experience.
Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Mathematics, or a related field (preferred); advanced knowledge of software architecture and specific domains like AI or machine learning (preferred).
