The Senior Lead Scrum Master serves as a servant leader to create empowered, self-organizing, and high-performing teams. This role involves mentoring the team and Product Owner on Scrum and Agile best practices while facilitating planning, delivery, and continuous improvement. Key responsibilities include managing backlogs, facilitating sprint execution, removing impediments, and coaching on engineering practices like Continuous Integration, automated testing, and test-first approaches such as TDD and ATDD. Required skills include excellent communication, conflict resolution, and experience with Agile Lifecycle Management tools like JIRA, Rally, or VersionOne. Mentor the team and Product Owner on Scrum and Agile best practices to improve productivity.
Educate stakeholders on the business value of engineering practices for faster delivery and higher quality.
Coach the Product Owner on maintaining a prioritized backlog with clear acceptance criteria and estimates.
Facilitate regular release planning workshops and ensure plan updates are communicated to stakeholders.
Identify and mitigate internal and external risks, issues, and dependencies to ensure smooth delivery.
Remove impediments that prevent the team from delivering work and achieving continuous improvement.
Facilitate daily stand-ups, sprint planning, reviews, and retrospectives while coaching the team on story sizing.
Create information radiators to increase transparency and share pertinent information with the team and stakeholders.
What we're looking for
A college or university degree is required.
Proven work experience as a Scrum Master using Agile practical usage is required.
Strong understanding of the software development life cycle, including planning, development, QA, change management, and release management is required.
Excellent understanding of software development methodologies such as Agile, SCRUM, Kanban, and Waterfall is required.
Strong knowledge of Agile techniques like Continuous Integration, automated testing, TDD, and ATDD is required.
Experience with Agile Lifecycle Management (ALM) tools like JIRA or Rally is preferred.
Certified Scrum Professional and/or certified Scrum Master is preferred.
