JOB TITLE: Scrum Master
The Scrum Master joins a development team focused on modernizing critical projects and solving unusually complex problems. In this role, you will coach the team to achieve high performance, ensuring they meet PI and sprint goals while fostering self-organization and shielding them from outside distractions. You will facilitate sprint ceremonies, promote and measure Agile metrics, and collaborate with the Product Owner, Engineering Lead, and Chief Architect to ensure backlog quality and prioritization. Daily tasks include gathering and documenting technical and business requirements and managing shared resources across teams. You will utilize Jira and Confluence to strengthen sustainable process improvements. The role requires a Certified Scrum Master, an active TS/SCI clearance, and experience teaching Agile framework concepts to technical teams within an intelligence community or agency context.
Facilitate sprint ceremonies to produce consistent outcomes and ensure the team meets PI and sprint goals.
Coach the development team on Agile best practices, processes, and self-organization to maximize performance.
Collaborate with the Product Owner and Engineering Lead to ensure backlog quality, clarity, and prioritization.
Gather and document technical and business requirements for project development.
Monitor and improve the scrum process by identifying and solving impediments in the development workflow.
Promote and measure Agile metrics to track team progress and process improvements.
Coordinate with other scrum teams to align priorities and manage shared resources.
Use Jira and Confluence to strengthen sustainable process improvements and manage project progress.
What we're looking for
5+ years of experience managing teams to meet stakeholder objectives in a Scrum Master role.
Experience with JIRA.
Experience leading client delivery engagements and working with senior-level client management.
Experience teaching technical teams basic Agile framework concepts.
Active TS/SCI clearance and willingness to take a polygraph exam.
Bachelor's degree and 5+ years of experience gathering and documenting technical and business requirements, or 9+ years of experience without a degree.
Certified Scrum Master (CSM) Certification.
Knowledge of project management frameworks, agency/intelligence IT infrastructures, or excellent communication skills (preferred).
