The Senior Field Applications Engineer joins the US Field Applications Engineering team to serve as the primary technical bridge between engineering and customers. This role involves providing high-tier technical assistance, delivering comprehensive training, and performing diagnostic troubleshooting for complex RF systems and networked solutions. You will deploy to customer locations to configure equipment, develop test plans, manage inventory, and provide sales support through capability demonstrations. Key requirements include a solid understanding of RF concepts like frequency and spectrum analysis, proficiency with spectrum analyzers, network analyzers, and multimeters, and intermediate networking knowledge including TCP/IP and VLANs. The work focuses on RF spectrum monitoring, direction finding, and geolocation technology to help military and national security agencies detect and exploit signals in contested electromagnetic environments.
Provide high-tier technical assistance to customers both remotely and on-site.
Deliver comprehensive training to end users on system operations and advanced software use.
Perform diagnostics and high-level repairs on RF equipment in the office and field.
Deploy to customer locations to configure and install CRFS equipment.
Develop test plans and summary project reports to support customer field activities.
Conduct system capability demonstrations and provide technical advice to support sales objectives.
Manage and calibrate demonstration equipment and inventory for deployment readiness.
Relay field data and customer feature requests to internal teams to drive product improvement.
What we're looking for
Must be a U.S. Citizen due to government contracts.
B.S. in electrical engineering, telecommunications, or a related technical field (relevant military technical school experience is accepted in lieu of a degree).
5 years of relevant experience.
Solid understanding of RF concepts and proficiency with spectrum analyzers, network analyzers, and multimeters.
Basic to intermediate networking skills including TCP/IP, subnets, VLANs, and hardware configuration.
Experience working on static sensitive equipment in ESD controlled environments.
Exceptional oral and written communication skills to explain complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
Experience within DoD, Government, or defense contracting environments (preferred); active or prior Secret/TS clearance (preferred).
