Senior Field Application Engineer, AI

What you'll do

• Support customers and partners in executing AI workloads on AMD Instinct GPUs, Pensando NICs, and EPYC CPUs.
• Execute and tune popular and customer-specific AI training and inference workloads using frameworks like PyTorch, TensorFlow, and JAX.
• Conduct engineering investigations to analyze AI performance, software impacts, and competitive positioning on AMD hardware.
• Create technical documentation including whitepapers, tuning guides, and training collateral for internal and external use.
• Build technical relationships with customer engineers and architects through Proof of Concepts (POCs) and presentations.
• Provide feedback to internal engineering and product teams to identify missing functionality and resolve technical issues.
• Assist the bid desk in creating Total Cost of Ownership models for pricing and proposals.
• Resolve customer and partner technical issues by submitting and driving JIRA tickets to resolution.

What we're looking for

• Track record of currently working in a role undertaking AI inference or training as a key part of your function.
• Demonstrable hands-on expertise working with popular AI frameworks.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills in English to collaborate with management and engineering teams.
• Ability to independently prioritize opportunities and deliver results on time.
• Willingness to travel domestically and internationally approximately 10-20% over a year.
• Bachelors' Degree in a technical field (Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Physics, Mathematics) (preferred).
• Demonstrated experience with training and inference workloads on GPUs (preferred).
• Familiarity with MLOps (KVM, Kubernetes, Openstack, Openshift) and Linux administration (preferred).
