The Senior Exchange Administrator supports a large enterprise IT contract for the DOD within a multi-enclave environment. This role involves managing on-prem Microsoft Exchange solutions, including versions 2019 and 2025 SE, alongside M365 Exchange Online in hybrid configurations. Key responsibilities include performing technical planning for hardware and software upgrades, conducting requirements analysis, and ensuring security compliance for Risk Management Framework Authority to Operate requests. The individual will provide Tier 2 operations and maintenance support, troubleshoot email routing devices, manage permissions under cybersecurity mandates, and develop PowerShell scripts to automate routine tasks. Technical skills required include experience with SCCM patch management, McAfee/Trellix environments, and high availability disaster recovery. Manage on-prem Microsoft Exchange and M365 Exchange Online in a hybrid environment.
Perform technical planning, implementation, and documentation for hardware/software upgrades to support RMF Authority to Operate requirements.
Provide Tier 2 troubleshooting and maintenance for physical and virtual servers across multi-enclave environments.
Conduct network latency analysis and perform root cause analysis to resolve enterprise-wide system issues.
Create and implement PowerShell scripts to automate routine tasks and standardize monitoring processes.
Manage email routing devices, security services, and user permissions in compliance with cybersecurity mandates.
Execute data spill cleanups and conduct FOIA searches using specialized tools and scripting.
Provide 24/7/365 on-call support for critical system outages and infrastructure failures.
What we're looking for
Must possess a Bachelor's degree with 8 years of experience, Master's with 6 years, Associate's with 10 years, or High School Diploma with 12 years.
Must be a U.S. citizen with an active TS/SCI clearance and the ability to maintain a Polygraph.
Must meet DoDM 8140.03 (formerly DoD 8570) IT System Admin Intermediate certification requirements, such as Security+ CE or higher.
Extensive experience required as a Tier 2 System Administrator managing Microsoft Exchange 2019, 2025 SE, and M365 Exchange Online in hybrid environments.
Extensive experience with scripting and automation using PowerShell or other languages to automate routine tasks.
Experience performing migrations between on-prem Exchange and M365 Exchange Online and managing high availability disaster recovery.
Proficiency in troubleshooting email routing devices, security services (McAfee/Trellix, Proofpoint), and server patch management via SCCM.
Certifications related to Microsoft Exchange, M365, MCSE, or MCSA are preferred; experience with McAfee/Trellix environments is preferred.
