As a Senior Embedded Software Engineer, you will join the Space and Mission Systems team to guide the next generation of mission-critical national security systems. Additionally, you may utilize RTOSs such as Integrity, VxWorks, Zephyr, or seL4 and build custom Yocto-based Linux distributions.

What you'll do

  • Develop device drivers and board support packages for custom embedded systems.
  • Diagnose and debug complex hardware-software boundary issues.
  • Create software to test manufactured circuit boards and identify design flaws.
  • Participate in peer reviews to track and repair software defects.
  • Evaluate interfaces between hardware and software with cross-functional engineering teams.
  • Execute all phases of the software development life cycle from requirements to formal testing.
  • Investigate root causes of complex technical issues and implement independent solutions.
  • Create software test plans, procedures, and relevant technical documentation.

What we're looking for

  • U.S. citizenship and an active Department of Defense (DoD) Secret security clearance.
  • Bachelor's or Master’s degree in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
  • At least 8 years of experience in software development.
  • At least 5 years of experience developing and debugging drivers, BSPs, bootloaders, bare-metal applications, or other low-level embedded systems.
  • Experience with embedded systems development using C, C++, assembly, and/or Rust.
  • Experience developing embedded Linux systems.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Experience with RTOSs (Integrity, VxWorks, Zephyr, seL4, Yocto), hardware bring-up, SoC architectures, FPGA fabric, or safety-critical standards (preferred).
