Senior Embedded Software Engineer

What you'll do

• Translate technical requirements into maintainable software solutions for C5 and Cyber Solution Centers.
• Serve as a subject matter expert to provide guidance and direction to other software engineers.
• Investigate root causes of complex issues and implement solutions independently or with multi-discipline teams.
• Develop and evaluate interfaces between hardware and software based on operational performance requirements.
• Execute all phases of the software development life cycle, including analysis, design, implementation, and formal testing.
• Create software test plans, procedures, and other relevant technical documentation.
• Use modeling tools to establish operating data, conduct experimental tests, and evaluate results.
• Develop embedded real-time applications using C/C++ and Python for target hardware.

What we're looking for

• U.S. citizenship and an active Department of Defense (DoD) Secret clearance.
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in computer engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
• 6+ years of experience developing applications on simulated and target hardware.
• Experience using Real-Time Operating Systems (RTOS) such as Green Hills Integrity, VxWorks, or similar.
• Proficiency in software languages including C/C++ and Python for embedded real-time operating systems.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills.
• Object-oriented design and implementation experience with exposure to modeling tools like IBM Rhapsody or MagicDraw/Cameo (preferred).
• Experience with device drivers, Board Support Packages, Modern C++, Information Assurance, cryptography, or NSA Type 1 certification (preferred).
