Senior Electrical Engineer

What you'll do

• Design and develop custom electronic solutions including PCBs, firmware, and FPGA code for rocket motor manufacturing and testing.
• Specify, design, and install sensors to collect critical data on solid rocket motor burn performance.
• Develop software applications and configure data acquisition systems to collect and process performance metrics.
• Create detailed schematics and simulated models to optimize designs for performance, reliability, and cost.
• Execute the safe arming and initiation of rocket motors during testing using safety-critical hardware designs.
• Oversee technicians during the installation of instrumentation and during active rocket motor testing.
• Develop cable drawings to interface with various low- and high-voltage systems.
• Draft formal technical documents, reports, and testing results for management approval.

What we're looking for

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
• Proven experience in safety-critical hardware design including multi-fault tolerance and initiation mitigation.
• Experience in high-voltage PCB layout and circuit design for motor initiation systems.
• Experience designing, developing, and installing sensors to collect system performance data.
• Proficiency with NI Labview, NI DAQmx, or other COTS data acquisition systems.
• Understanding of signal conditioning, analog circuit design, and the analog-to-digital conversion process.
• Ability to develop computer applications for data collection and write/understand Python code.
• Eligibility to obtain and maintain an active U.S. Secret security clearance.
