Senior Electrical Engineer

What you'll do

• Design and develop custom electronic solutions including PCBs, firmware, and FPGA code for manufacturing and testing solid rocket motors.
• Specify, design, and install devices to collect data on solid rocket motor burn performance.
• Create detailed schematics and simulated models to optimize designs for performance, reliability, and cost.
• Develop software applications and configure data collection systems to capture performance metrics.
• Oversee the implementation, installation, and testing of new measuring devices and control systems.
• Execute the safe arming and initiation of rocket motors under test in coordination with other engineers.
• Act as project engineer for design, prototype fabrication, and manufacturing development.
• Draft and present formal technical documents, reports, and testing results for management approval.

What we're looking for

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
• Proven experience in safety-critical hardware design, including multi-fault tolerance and arm/fire inhibits.
• Experience in high-voltage PCB layout and circuit design for motor initiation and capacitor charging/discharge.
• Experience in the design, development, and installation of sensors for system performance data collection.
• Experience with NI Labview, NI DAQmx, or other COTS data acquisition systems.
• Understanding of signal conditioning, analog circuit design, and digital circuit design for ADC processes.
• Ability to develop computer applications for data collection and proficiency in Python.
• Eligible to obtain and maintain an active U.S. Secret security clearance.
