Senior EHR Integration Specialist

What you'll do

• Design, implement, test, and support production integrations between the healthcare platform and external EHR systems.
• Lead the production integration of SMART on FHIR applications into Epic clinical workflows.
• Develop FHIR R4 integrations for clinical and administrative data exchange and configure OAuth 2.0 and OpenID Connect flows.
• Create reusable reference architectures and integration patterns using FHIR, HL7, and CDS Hooks.
• Build reusable templates, scripts, and automation tools to accelerate practice onboarding and reduce manual work.
• Define security and operational standards for HIPAA compliance, role-based access control, and data privacy.
• Produce technical artifacts including sequence diagrams, data mappings, implementation guides, and operational runbooks.
• Serve as a subject-matter expert to provide technical guidance and make integration recommendations across engineering and product teams.

What we're looking for

• Degree or equivalent and typically requires 7+ years of relevant experience.
• Five or more years of experience in software engineering, integration engineering, healthcare interoperability, or solution architecture.
• Hands-on experience delivering SMART on FHIR integrations in a production environment.
• Experience integrating applications with external EHR systems, preferably Epic.
• Hands-on coding experience supporting APIs, application integrations, middleware, or interoperability solutions.
• Applied experience with FHIR R4, OAuth 2.0, and OpenID Connect.
• Experience designing secure, scalable, and reusable healthcare integration architectures using FHIR, HL7, SMART on FHIR, or CDS Hooks.
• Experience with Epic SMART App Launch, App Orchard, Connection Hub, Bridges, or related Epic integration capabilities (preferred).
