The Enterprise Integration Solutions Architect - Central (H) serves as a senior technical resource within the Information Technology & Systems Department, providing expertise in designing, governing, and implementing enterprise interoperability solutions. The role involves evaluating complex business requirements to develop cross-platform integration strategies, establishing architectural standards, and building scalable solutions for secure information exchange. Key responsibilities include leading Epic technical architecture, developing prototypes, and managing vendor engagements. The position requires proficiency in technologies such as Epic Chronicles, Bridges, Interconnect, Clarity, and FHIR services, alongside InterSystems IRIS for Health, Rhapsody, and Corepoint. Candidates must utilize HL7, DICOM, REST APIs, SOAP, JSON, and XML while applying programming skills in Python or Caché/InterSystems ObjectScript. The work focuses on healthcare interoperability, connecting clinical, research, and digital health platforms.
Design and maintain enterprise integration architectures, standards, and patterns to ensure interoperability across all platforms.
Translate complex business and clinical requirements into scalable, secure, and supportable technical integration solutions.
Architect and implement solutions using APIs, cloud services, middleware, and healthcare standards like FHIR and HL7.
Serve as the technical lead for Epic interoperability, including Bridges, Interconnect, and Care Everywhere.
Establish governance practices, technical standards, and best practices for enterprise integration and data security.
Lead technical evaluations and due diligence for third-party vendors, startups, and emerging AI technologies.
Develop prototypes, proof-of-concepts, and custom integration components using Python or InterSystems ObjectScript.
Provide senior-level troubleshooting and root cause analysis for complex production issues across the integration ecosystem.
What we're looking for
Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Software Engineering, Information Systems, Information Technology, Healthcare Informatics, or a related field.
Master’s degree in computer science, Information Systems, or a related discipline (preferred).
Minimum 8 years of experience in healthcare IT, software engineering, systems integration, interoperability, application development, or technology architecture.
Demonstrated experience integrating third-party applications with Epic in a healthcare provider environment.
Strong working knowledge of healthcare interoperability standards including FHIR, HL7 v2/v3, C-CDA, DICOM, and SMART on FHIR.
Hands-on programming experience using Caché/InterSystems ObjectScript, Python, or a comparable programming language.
Advanced knowledge of relational databases with strong SQL skills, including PL/SQL, Transact-SQL, and stored procedures.
One or more Epic technical certifications, InterSystems IRIS for Health, or HL7/FHIR-related certifications (preferred).
