What you'll do

Design and operate secure, scalable data infrastructure to support Venmo products and analytics teams.
Automate provisioning, management, and monitoring solutions for supported data infrastructure components.
Build and implement reliable data pipeline architectures to optimize overall system performance.
Develop tools that transform raw data into actionable insights for improved customer experience and operational efficiency.
Implement message streaming solutions using technologies such as AWS SQS and Apache Kafka.
Manage and query relational (SQL) and NoSQL databases to create complex datasets meeting business requirements.
Resolve technical issues and provide infrastructure support for internal stakeholders across product and engineering teams.

What we're looking for

Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science or a related field of study.
At least 3 years of experience in software development or a related field.
At least 3 years of experience operating on-prem/cloud databases, data warehouses, and distributed systems.
Experience maintaining message streaming solutions such as AWS SQS and Apache Kafka.
Proficiency in infrastructure as code tools including AWS CLI, CloudFormation, Terraform, Ansible, or Puppet.
Programming and scripting skills in Python, Java, Bash, Lambda, and API Gateway.
Experience with big data operations including AWS S3, DMS, EKS, Spark, Glue, and Luigi.
Ability to communicate technical issues clearly to non-technical audiences.
