What you'll do

Design and operate data infrastructure to provide a secure, scalable, and performant platform for Venmo products.
Automate provisioning, management, and monitoring solutions for supported data infrastructure.
Build and implement scalable data pipeline architectures to optimize overall system performance.
Develop tools that enable users to transform raw data into actionable insights for business performance.
Implement message streaming solutions using technologies such as AWS SQS and Apache Kafka.
Manage relational and NoSQL databases, including query authoring and the creation of complex datasets.
Resolve technical issues and provide infrastructure support for executive, product, engineering, and analytics teams.

What we're looking for

Bachelor's or Master's degree in computer science or a related field.
3+ years of experience in software development or a related field.
3+ years of experience operating on-prem/cloud databases, data warehouses, and distributed systems.
Experience maintaining message streaming solutions such as AWS SQS and Apache Kafka.
Proficiency in programming and scripting using Python, Java, and Bash.
Hands-on experience with IaaS and PaaS tools including Terraform, Ansible, Puppet, and CloudFormation.
Experience with big data operations involving AWS S3, Spark, Glue, and EKS.
Ability to communicate technical issues clearly to non-technical audiences.
