The Senior Debug Tools Engineer joins the DFX team within the Compute Silicon & Manufacturing Engineering organization to ensure silicon quality for server-class SoCs. This role involves designing, developing, and maintaining silicon debug tools and automation frameworks used during pre-silicon and post-silicon bring-up. The engineer will build software utilities, automation scripts, and diagnostic tools while enhancing debug workflows using OpenOCD, Lauterbach TRACE32, JTAG/DAP infrastructure, and run-control technologies. Key responsibilities include investigating complex hardware-software interactions, performing crash analysis, and enabling advanced capabilities like Coresight-based debug and trace collection. The role requires proficiency in C/C++, Python, and experience with Arm architecture, CoreSight, and AMBA protocols. This position addresses the technical challenge of managing and optimizing cloud infrastructure by improving manufacturing quality, delivery, and scale for high-volume hardware production.
Design, develop, validate, and maintain silicon debug tools and automation frameworks for server-class SoCs.
Enhance debug workflows using OpenOCD, Lauterbach TRACE32, JTAG/DAP infrastructure, and run-control technologies.
Create software utilities and automation scripts in C++, Python, and related languages to support firmware bring-up and crash analysis.

Perform scan dump analysis, crash dump collection, and UART-based bring-up for silicon validation.
What we're looking for
A Doctorate in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or Computer Science and 1+ years of experience; OR a Master's degree and 4+ years; OR a Bachelor's degree and 5+ years.
Equivalent experience to the specified educational requirements is acceptable.
