Senior Customer Engineer, Fed - Toronto, CA serves as a core driver of the technical go-to-market strategy within the GTM organization. This role functions as a trusted advisor and primary architect for enterprise clients, guiding them through pre-sales validation, onboarding, and full lifecycle expansion. You will design migration blueprints, conduct technical deep-dives into DNS, CDN, Zero Trust, and Network Security, and manage account growth to meet specific quotas. The position requires expertise in internet fundamentals like BGP, TCP/UDP, and SSL/TLS, alongside proficiency in Python, JavaScript, Bash, Lua, or Go for custom scripting. You will also utilize LLMs and AI-augmented workflows to automate routine tasks while solving complex performance and security challenges. This role addresses the critical need to protect and accelerate internet applications through robust infrastructure design and proactive technical consulting.
Lead technical discovery and map complex customer infrastructure to Cloudflare products like DNS, CDN, and Zero Trust.
Design and deliver tailored architectural diagrams, demonstrations, and technical presentations to address specific customer challenges.
Manage the full customer lifecycle by overseeing onboarding, migration blueprints, and long-term technical health monitoring.
Act as a trusted advisor to C-level executives by translating complex technical capabilities into measurable business outcomes.
Drive revenue growth by identifying cross-sell opportunities and conducting technical Quarterly Business Reviews (QBRs).
Automate routine tasks such as RFP responses and documentation using AI agents and Large Language Models.
Create and maintain internal and external technical resources, including Standard Operating Procedures and architectural best practices.
What we're looking for
Must have experience in customer-facing technical roles such as Solutions Engineering, Customer Engineering, or Technical Account Management.
Ability to design and articulate complex enterprise network and security architectures.
Proven track record of operating in a quota-carrying or revenue-aligned environment.
Ability to translate deeply technical concepts into business outcomes for both engineers and C-level executives.
Must demonstrate depth in at least four areas: Internet fundamentals, Security, Performance, AI Proficiency, Coding/Scripting, or Developer Platform Fluency.
Familiarity with LLM orchestration, RAG architectures, and model-access controls is preferred.
Understanding of regulatory requirements such as PCI DSS, HIPAA, and SOC 2 is preferred.
Export control laws, including the U.S. Export Administration Regulations.
