The Senior Core Infrastructure Engineer - Virtual Networking joins the software engineering division to develop critical foundational virtual networking data-plane services for the next generation of cloud infrastructure. This role focuses on building highly performant, reliable, and scalable systems to support AI workloads at low latency. You will design, implement, and optimize distributed systems components, ensuring high availability through redundancy, replication, and automatic failover. Key responsibilities include developing new major features, performing load testing, and managing incident responses. The position requires expertise in C/C++, DPDK, Linux kernels, device drivers, and distributed debugging tools. You will also utilize Infrastructure as Code for automation and apply advanced security controls like encryption. The work involves solving complex system-level architecture problems within a fast-paced, collaborative environment to improve data-plane performance.
Design and develop software for OCI Virtual Networking data-plane components.
Build and optimize distributed systems for horizontal and vertical scalability.
Implement fault-tolerant mechanisms including redundancy, replication, and automatic failover.
Develop performance and load tests to evaluate system correctness and scalability.
Create dashboards, telemetry systems, and alerting mechanisms to monitor component health.
Diagnose and resolve system issues through automation scripts and incident response.
Apply advanced security controls such as encryption and access remediation.
Maintain Infrastructure as Code (IaC) for managing and troubleshooting cloud infrastructure.
What we're looking for
Must have 8 years of software development experience, or a relevant Bachelor's degree with 4 years of experience, or a Master's degree with 2 years of experience, or a Doctorate.
Must have 3+ years of relevant engineering, architecture, or development/operational experience.
Must have 3 years of experience working in testing and automation at the system level.
Must have 2 years of experience working with delivering and operating large-scale distributed systems.
Must have 2 years of professional experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, Google, or Oracle Cloud.
Must have strong experience working on data plane architectures in networking devices and high-concurrency systems.
Must have experience designing, developing, and optimizing high-performance network solutions using DPDK and C/C++.
Must have working experience with Linux OSes/kernels, device drivers, performance testing tools, and distributed debugging tools.
