Senior Core Infrastructure Engineer

What you'll do

• Turn defined objectives into detailed designs, maintainable code, and integrated features.
• Implement packet forwarding, encapsulation, virtual networking, and storage integration features.
• Select appropriate data structures, synchronization methods, and memory management approaches.
• Use benchmarks, packet captures, and profiling tools to diagnose throughput, latency, CPU, and memory issues.
• Investigate how network behavior affects storage I/O path latency and throughput.
• Add instrumentation, test error paths, and diagnose issues during integration and production support.
• Review code, document interfaces, and provide technical guidance to teammates.
• Validate AI-generated outputs for coding, testing, and documentation to ensure correctness.

What we're looking for

• 3+ years of professional software engineering experience in systems or infrastructure software, including hands-on networking data plane development.
• Strong C or C++ skills, including debugging, memory management, and concurrent programming on Linux.
• Working knowledge of packet processing and networking fundamentals, including Ethernet, IP, TCP/UDP, routing, and switching.
• Experience implementing or debugging networking software such as forwarding, encapsulation, virtual switching, or network policy.
• Familiarity with the basic storage I/O path, latency, throughput, and failure handling.
• Experience with automated testing, debugging or profiling tools, and using measurements to explain software behavior.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related discipline, or equivalent practical experience.
• Experience with DPDK, DPU acceleration, storage software (NVMe, RDMA), or hardware validation (PCIe, DMA, SR-IOV) (preferred).
