As a Senior Application Software Engineer within the Oracle Government Defense & Intelligence team, you will build and operate secure, scalable application services for sovereign and government cloud environments. What you'll do

Design, develop, test, and maintain secure application software, services, APIs, and integrations.
Drive medium-sized features to improve reliability, performance, and maintainability of production systems.
Translate ambiguous requirements into scalable designs, implementation plans, and technical documentation.
Lead code reviews and recommend improvements to development practices in designated areas.
Troubleshoot and resolve complex issues involving applications, APIs, integrations, and production environments.
Perform incident investigation, root cause analysis, and improve system observability and operational readiness.
Partner with QA teams to define test strategies and ensure consistency across modules.
Mentor junior engineers and collaborate cross-functionally on feature delivery and service improvements.

What we're looking for

U.S. Citizenship and an active TS/SCI with Poly security clearance are required at hire.
8 years of software development experience, or a relevant degree combined with 2 to 4 years of experience.
At least 4 years of experience with programming and/or scripting languages.
At least 3 years of experience working with databases.
Experience with distributed systems, API development, source control, debugging, and secure development practices.
Ability to communicate technical ideas clearly through design documents, code reviews, and operational handoffs.
Preferred: 2 years of experience with cloud platforms like Oracle Cloud Infrastructure, AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.
Bachelor's degree in a relevant technical field and 4 years of software development.
