Senior Analytics Engineer

What you'll do

• Design and build robust dbt models to serve as the foundation for analytics, machine learning, and customer products.
• Own and evolve the semantic layer to define metrics, dimensions, and business logic for internal and automated tools.
• Partner with Engineering and Data Science to ensure the Snowflake warehouse is performant and aligned with product needs.
• Establish and champion best practices for data modeling, testing, documentation, and code reviews across the team.
• Collaborate with product teams to scope and deliver native warehouse data delivery to customers.
• Proactively identify data quality issues and build observability and governance frameworks to ensure data reliability.
• Define and establish the standards, patterns, and culture for the Analytics Engineering function at Alloy.

What we're looking for

• Must have 5+ years of experience in analytics engineering, data engineering, or a closely related role.
• Must possess a strong command of dbt and SQL.
• Must have hands-on experience with Snowflake or a comparable cloud data warehouse including performance tuning and design.
• Must have experience building or maintaining a semantic layer or metrics layer.
• Must demonstrate a strong understanding of data modeling fundamentals, such as denormalization and handling slowly changing dimensions.
• Familiarity with data ingestion and CDC tooling is required; experience with Artie or similar tools is preferred.
• Must be able to partner effectively with Data Science, Engineering, and Product teams across technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Must be local to New York City for a hybrid work schedule in the Union Square office.
