TL;DR · RF System Integration Engineer, Instrument Engineering

As an RF System Integration Engineer at Apple's Wireless team, you will join a small, elite group of engineers responsible for designing and producing precision RF and analog test equipment used across millions of devices. Your day-to-day involves bench debugging, developing automated test software, collaborating with hardware and software teams to ensure accuracy and reliability in production-scale testing, and working directly with internal customers to deploy solutions and provide support. You will need a strong background in RF fundamentals, experience with Python or C++ for automation, and proficiency with standard RF test equipment like signal generators and analyzers. Familiarity with cellular standards (5G/4G), Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, mmWave, UWB, and NFC is preferred, along with knowledge of DSP and communications theory, and CI/CD integration experience. This role demands a deep understanding of RF systems and the ability to solve complex problems while maintaining high accuracy in test equipment calibration methods.

What you'll do

  • Debug RF and analog measurement problems on the bench, isolating root cause across hardware, firmware, and software.
  • Develop and maintain automated test and calibration software for RF instrumentation.
  • Characterize RF systems using signal generators, analyzers, VNAs, and power sensors.
  • Support RF applications from prototype through mass production by partnering with hardware and software engineers.
  • Work directly with internal customers to understand test requirements and provide hands-on support.
  • Improve test coverage and throughput by automating manual workflows and integrating them into CI/CD.

What we're looking for

  • BS in Electrical Engineering, Physics, or related field; MS preferred
  • 3–4 years of hands-on experience in RF, wireless, or test/measurement engineering
  • Strong skills in debugging RF problems using standard test equipment
  • Proven experience developing automated test software in Python and/or C++
  • Experience with RF system calibration methods and traceability
  • Familiarity with cellular (5G/4G), Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, mmWave, UWB, or NFC radio test and measurement
  • Strong communication skills for working directly with customers and presenting technical findings
