TL;DR · RF Engineer

RF Engineer The RF Engineer joins the engineering team to lead the architecture, development, integration, and qualification of RF power delivery solutions for next-generation semiconductor manufacturing equipment. This role involves designing, modifying, and troubleshooting electrical assemblies, layouts, schematics, and drawings while translating customer requirements into robust RF subsystem designs. The engineer will develop systems including generators, match networks, sensors, transmission lines, and grounding architectures to optimize plasma performance, stability, and reliability. Key responsibilities include performing circuit analysis, EM modeling, and power loss evaluations using tools such as ADS, HFSS, CST Studio Suite, SPICE, MATLAB, and Python. The role addresses critical technical challenges in semiconductor manufacturing, specifically focusing on advanced plasma applications like PECVD, CVD, and Etch processes to improve uniformity and defectivity reduction while ensuring cost-effective, manufacturable solutions for high-frequency power delivery systems.

What you'll do

  • Lead the architecture, design, and integration of RF power delivery systems including generators, match networks, and transmission lines.
  • Translate customer requirements into robust RF subsystem designs to improve plasma performance, stability, and reliability.
  • Perform circuit analysis, EM modeling, and thermal assessments using simulation tools to predict system behavior.
  • Partner with process engineers to optimize plasma ignition, coupling efficiency, and uniformity for semiconductor manufacturing.
  • Manage the full product lifecycle including prototype bring-up, system qualification, and technical documentation for product releases.
  • Conduct root cause investigations for RF failures and lead corrective actions to improve manufacturability and cost of ownership.
  • Act as a subject matter expert to mentor junior engineers and provide technical guidance across cross-functional teams.
  • Coordinate with suppliers to select critical components and ensure the procurement of high-performance parts.

What we're looking for

  • BS, MS, or PhD in Electrical Engineering, Physics, RF Engineering, or a related discipline.
  • 8+ years of experience developing RF systems in semiconductor equipment, plasma processing, power electronics, communications, aerospace, or related industries.
  • Strong foundation in RF circuit design, electromagnetics, impedance matching, transmission line theory, and high-frequency power delivery systems.
  • Experience with RF generators, matching networks, and hands-on troubleshooting and laboratory characterization.
  • Proven ability to lead complex technical programs and cross-functional teams.
  • Semiconductor plasma processing experience (preferred).
  • Experience supporting PECVD, CVD, Etch, EPI, Surface Treatment, or related plasma applications (preferred).
  • Familiarity with specific tools such as ADS, HFSS, CST Studio Suite, SPICE, MATLAB, or Python (preferred).
