Quality Systems Engineer, Sr Staff serves as a senior leader within the Quality Assurance Engineering team, ensuring scalable, standards-driven quality governance across complex electronic products and platforms. The role involves planning and executing internal assessments to ensure compliance with safety, quality, and regulatory requirements across design, manufacturing, and production processes. You will act as a trusted advisor to hardware and system teams, manage engagement with external ISO registrars, and drive corrective actions for systemic gaps. Key responsibilities include championing design-in quality, analyzing data to identify enterprise risks, and overseeing ESD and Lab Compliance Audits. The role requires expertise in manufacturing electronics, ISO 9001 standards, and product development lifecycles. Preferred skills include familiarity with IATF16949, ISO 26262, Functional Safety, Automotive SPICE, Minitab data modeling, and Black Belt or ASQ certifications to support expansion into automotive and IoT markets.
Plan and execute internal assessments to ensure compliance with quality, safety, and regulatory standards across manufacturing and production processes.
Act as the primary lead for external ISO audits, managing certification readiness and resolving findings from third-party bodies.
Influence early lifecycle decisions to integrate "design-in quality" regarding supplier engagement and manufacturing readiness.
Analyze quality data and customer signals to identify enterprise risks and implement improvements to internal standards and controls.
Serve as a technical advisor for new market expansions, assessing risk and standard alignment for emerging product categories.
Lead cross-functional efforts to resolve complex quality issues involving products, suppliers, and customer feedback.
Develop and oversee quality training, process documentation, and templates to support the effectiveness of the Quality Management System.
Oversee reporting for ESD compliance and Lab Compliance Audits across all company laboratories.
What we're looking for
Bachelor's degree in engineering or a related technical field with an electronics background is required.
Master's degree and 5+ years of experience, or PhD and 4+ years of experience, are acceptable alternatives to the bachelor's requirement.
10+ years of experience in quality systems, product engineering, manufacturing, or reliability roles for complex electronic products.
10+ years of experience planning, leading, or participating in internal and/or external quality assessments.
Hands-on knowledge of ISO 9001 standards and a Lead Auditor Certification are required.
Proven ability to lead structured problem solving, root cause analysis, and influence cross-functional teams in matrixed organizations.
Strong understanding of product development lifecycles, validation, and release processes.
Familiarity with IATF16949, ISO 26262, ESD S20.20, Functional Safety, or Automotive SPICE is preferred.
