Project Engineer, Control Firmware

What you'll do

• Design motor control models in MATLAB/Simulink for synchronous, induction, and permanent magnet motors.
• Develop features for embedded software modules using C/C++.
• Simulate and test model-based code on bench systems and actual variable frequency drives.
• Optimize code for performance, memory requirements, and simplicity.
• Validate code for reliability and safety standards.
• Lead the investigation of technical anomalies and the exploration of new control algorithms.
• Participate in requirement specifications and peer code reviews.
• Communicate complex technical information in both verbal and written formats.

What we're looking for

• Bachelor's Degree or equivalent years of relevant work experience.
• Legal authorization to work in the United States.
• 12+ years of related experience is preferred.
• Master of Science in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or equivalent is preferred.
• Twelve years of experience in embedded software development with an emphasis on model-based design and real-time systems is preferred.
• Experience with the development of motor drives or power converters and their associated control systems is preferred.
• Proficiency in model-based development using MATLAB/Simulink and knowledge of C/C++.
• Knowledge of motor control algorithms, power converter types, and experience working in a SAFe environment are preferred.
