TL;DR · Product Manager, Relevance and Personalization - Careers

As a Product Manager for Airbnb's Relevance & Personalization (R&P) team, you will lead the strategic direction and execution of AI systems that enhance guest experiences and host success across the entire travel journey. Your day-to-day involves defining roadmaps, making critical prioritization decisions, collaborating with ML engineers to develop evaluation frameworks, and aligning cross-functional teams on shared goals. You will also oversee A/B experiments and translate technical complexities into clear narratives for leadership while fostering a collaborative environment between engineering and product management. Ideal candidates have over 10 years of experience in product management, particularly with AI-powered products at scale, strong experimentation skills, and expertise in two-sided marketplaces. Familiarity with LLM-based products, reinforcement learning, and working alongside applied researchers is preferred. This role demands a deep understanding of the travel marketplace dynamics to drive global-scale impact.

What you'll do

  • Define and drive the roadmap for Airbnb's relevance and personalization platform.
  • Balance multiple objectives to prioritize features impacting guest experience and host success.
  • Partner with ML teams to shape model strategy and experimentation design.
  • Align cross-functional partners on shared goals and sequencing for R&P systems.
  • Design A/B experiments with rigorous metric frameworks and long-term impact analysis.

What we're looking for

  • 10+ years of product management experience, including at least 3 years with ML or AI-powered products.
  • Proven ability to own and drive the strategy and roadmap for complex technical systems.
  • Strong proficiency in designing and interpreting A/B experiments and long-term metric outcomes.
  • Experience balancing supply-side and demand-side tradeoffs in two-sided marketplaces.
  • Ability to communicate complex technical concepts clearly to both executives and engineers.
  • Familiarity with reinforcement learning, contextual bandits, or explore/exploit frameworks preferred.
