What you'll do

  • Develop applications and solutions for metrology techniques including AFM, nanoindentation, UV-Vis spectroscopy, and optical coupling.
  • Serve as a technical subject-matter expert in topography and material property characterization.

  • Manage vendor engagements and lead escalations to ensure tool productivity and uptime.
  • Identify and implement innovative solutions for emerging characterization challenges across various technologies.
  • Support advanced process research and development by characterizing and optimizing next-generation technologies.
  • Perform data analysis and systematic troubleshooting to solve complex characterization problems.

What we're looking for

  • Master's degree or PhD in Materials Science, Optics, Chemistry, Physics, or a related field.
  • At least 2 years of hands-on experience in advanced metrology and characterization techniques.
  • Expertise in one or more areas including AFM, nanoindentation, optical characterization, surface metrology, or materials analysis.
  • Proven track record in metrology application development and solving complex characterization challenges for R&D programs.
  • Experience in vendor management, specifically regarding tool downtime situations and escalation management.
  • Strong program and project management skills to manage multiple projects and priorities effectively.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to collaborate across different teams and organizational levels.
  • Proficiency in programming/scripting and experience with statistical tools like JMP or Matlab is preferred.
