Metrology Engineer III

What you'll do

• Develop and deploy spectroscopy, imaging, and vision-based metrology systems for non-contact wafer characterization.
• Design and execute experiments to characterize sensor performance, quantify measurement uncertainty, and perform MSA and Gauge R&R analyses.
• Create calibration methods and models to transform optical, spectral, and image signals into actionable process metrics.
• Build algorithms for signal processing, anomaly detection, and metrology inference using physics-based and machine learning techniques.
• Correlate on-tool measurements with reference systems to generate wafer-level analytics for predictive monitoring and process control.
• Characterize and optimize optical subsystems including illumination sources, spectrometers, hyperspectral cameras, and data acquisition hardware.
• Support the full product lifecycle from prototype integration and troubleshooting to technical documentation and automated visualization tools.

What we're looking for

• Master's degree in a technical field with 3+ years of experience, or a PhD, or equivalent industry experience.
• Strong experimental design, statistical analysis, and technical problem-solving skills.
• Experience with scientific data analysis tools such as Python, MATLAB, R, JMP, or equivalent.
• Ability to interpret complex datasets and communicate findings effectively to both technical and non-technical audiences.
• Strong written, verbal, and presentation skills.
• Ability to travel up to 25%.
• Experience with semiconductor metrology, optical sensing technologies, and advanced data interpretation (preferred).
• Experience in modeling, image processing, signal processing, and developing production-grade analytics or machine learning solutions (preferred).
