The Principal Web Technology Lead is responsible for defining and governing the web technology ecosystem that powers commercial web experiences. This role serves as a bridge between business stakeholders, platform teams, analytics teams, and engineering organizations to translate business needs into technical standards. The individual will own the strategy for measurement and customer journey instrumentation, establishing governance for tagging, metadata, and taxonomy while managing capabilities across platforms like AEM, Adobe Analytics/CJA, Demandbase, and Fabric-connected services. Day-to-day responsibilities include defining implementation patterns, identifying technical debt, and ensuring consistent telemetry collection across the web ecosystem. The role requires expertise in web architecture, digital measurement technologies, and cross-functional leadership to manage complex infrastructure requirements. This position solves the problem of inconsistent data capture by creating a unified framework for how web platforms support personalization, monitoring, and engagement signals.
Define and own the technology strategy for commercial web measurement and customer journey instrumentation.
Establish technical standards, implementation patterns, and governance processes for web tagging and metadata.
Manage the capability-to-platform framework to ensure consistent use of technologies like AEM and Adobe across the ecosystem.
Identify and resolve gaps, duplications, and technical debt across various web platforms.
Define how web experiences are tagged and instrumented to support downstream analytics and reporting.
Act as the primary point of coordination between business stakeholders, engineering teams, and analytics organizations.
Drive roadmap alignment and dependency management across multiple independently managed platform teams.
What we're looking for
Bachelor's Degree and 6+ years of experience in engineering, product/technical program management, data analysis, or product development (or equivalent).
3+ years of experience managing cross-functional and/or cross-team projects.
Deep expertise in web platforms, web architecture, and digital measurement technologies (preferred).
Understanding of web tagging, telemetry design, metadata models, and customer journey instrumentation (preferred).
Experience with platforms such as AEM, Adobe Analytics/CJA, Demandbase, Power BI, and related web technologies (preferred).
Ability to operate comfortably with both technical engineering teams and non-technical business stakeholders (preferred).
Proven success leading cross-organizational initiatives without direct authority (preferred).
Experience establishing governance models, standards, and operating frameworks at scale (preferred).
