JOB TITLE: Principal / Sr. Principal System Administrator The Principal / Sr. Principal System Administrator joins the Northrop Grumman Space Systems team to serve as a Linux Systems Administrator on large, classified government contracts. This role involves maintaining multi-user computer systems, coordinating with network and software engineers, and managing multiple networks. Key responsibilities include installing, patching, and monitoring systems, as well as creating user accounts and managing file permissions. The position requires analyzing customer requirements to determine hardware and software solutions while ensuring strict adherence to Information Systems security guidelines. Candidates must utilize RHEL, Ansible, Puppet, and Satellite, while managing NAS storage devices and Kubernetes deployments. The work focuses on hardening Linux systems in accordance with RMF and STIGs to solve complex technical problems within highly secure, classified networked and standalone computer environments.

What you'll do

Perform Linux systems administration on large, classified government contracts.
Maintain smooth operation of multi-user computer systems and support multiple networks.
Recommend and implement system enhancements including installing, patching, monitoring, and configuration management.
Create and maintain user accounts, computer accounts, and security access lists.
Test new product releases to ensure compatibility and minimize user impact.
Develop and document technical processes, procedures, and security documentation.
Maintain security audit logs and adhere to strict Information Systems security guidelines.
Troubleshoot issues with vendors and evaluate hardware, software, and system components.

What we're looking for

Must have United States citizenship.
Must have an active U.S. Government Secret security clearance at time of application.
Must have at least 1 year of server administration experience with RHEL.
Must have a DoD 8570 IAT Level II baseline certification or the ability to obtain one within 6 months.
Level 3 requires 5 years experience with a Bachelors, 3 years with a Masters, or 1 year with a PhD.
Level 4 requires 8 years experience with a Bachelors, 6 years with a Masters, or 4 years with a PhD.
Ability to lift equipment weighing up to 40 pounds.
Ability to work after hours and weekends as needed.
