What you'll do

Define and drive the long-term technical vision and architecture for the Fabric Data Warehouse DQP platform.
Lead the design of core query processing technologies including distributed execution, scheduling, and resource management.
Solve complex distributed systems problems involving scale, concurrency, fault tolerance, and service reliability.
Establish architectural standards, engineering best practices, and technical governance through design reviews and mentoring.

Mentor and develop senior engineers and technical leaders to foster a culture of technical excellence.
Lead cross-organizational initiatives to align stakeholders and deliver strategic capabilities for the Fabric platform.
Champion AI-driven development practices and intelligent observability to improve engineering productivity and system health.

What we're looking for

Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field and 6+ years of experience coding in languages like C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python.
Equivalent experience to the degree and years requirement is acceptable.
Ability to pass a Microsoft Cloud background check every two years.
Master's Degree in Computer Science or related field and 8+ years of technical engineering experience (preferred).
Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related field and 12+ years of technical engineering experience (preferred).
Strong distributed systems experience with an understanding of scale, resiliency, and reliability patterns (preferred).
Strong AI-first mindset and passion for exploring new technologies to improve engineering effectiveness (preferred).
