You will serve as a lead contributor in selecting, architecting, and integrating aircraft engines and components on unmanned air vehicles while designing, fabricating, and testing prototype systems. Your daily work involves planning propulsion test programs, managing vendor relationships, and providing technical leadership to advise executive teams. The role requires expertise in engine cycle decks, thermodynamic modeling, and CAD design for inlet and exhaust shaping. You will utilize tools such as NX, Teamcenter, Python, MATLAB, and IADs. This position addresses the critical challenge of developing high-performance, resilient propulsion systems capable of operating within complex, contested environments.

What you'll do

  • Architect and integrate aircraft engines, components, and control systems for unmanned aerial vehicles.
  • Design, fabricate, and test prototype components and propulsion control systems.
  • Plan, instrument, and execute comprehensive testing of aircraft propulsion systems.
  • Manage strategic partnerships and coordinate with engine vendors to develop supply chains.
  • Support critical hardware demonstrations and technical presentations for customers and government agencies.
  • Perform CAD design for inlet/exhaust shaping, surfaces, and structures.
  • Advise executive leadership on technical risks and define technology roadmaps for propulsion programs.

What we're looking for

  • Bachelor's degree or higher in Mechanical, Aerospace, or Electrical Engineering.
  • 15+ years of propulsion engineering experience on manned or unmanned air vehicles.
  • Professional experience with jet engines in the 250-20,000 lbf thrust class.
  • Mastery of engine cycle decks and thermodynamic modeling to influence OEM design decisions.
  • Experience as Chief Engineer or technical authority on a major propulsion program defining roadmaps and baselines.
  • Experience selecting suppliers, managing OEM relationships, and establishing qualified supply chains.
  • Experience designing propulsion test programs and troubleshooting system-level anomalies.
  • Eligible to obtain and maintain an active U.S. Secret security clearance.
  • Experience in NX, Teamcenter, Python, MATLAB, or IADs (preferred).
  • Hands-on experience with jet engine testing, instrumentation, and data processing (preferred).
  • Previous work at a jet engine OEM or supplier (preferred).
  • Knowledge of FADEC, Engine Management Systems, or equivalent control systems (preferred).
  • Experience in procurement and machine shop operations (preferred).
  • Active U.S. Top Secret security clearance (preferred).
