As a Principal Platform Software Engineer on the Logging team, you will build state-of-the-art observability platforms that provide visibility and operational intelligence for internal cloud services and customer workloads. You will lead the evolution of middleware patterns, define versioning and rollout strategies, and establish shared observability baselines like SLOs and error budgets. Your daily work involves designing software solutions, performing performance profiling, managing API lifecycle strategies, and conducting complex troubleshooting to ensure multi-tenant reliability. You will also provide technical guidance and coaching to less experienced engineers while ensuring adherence to architectural standards and secure coding practices. The role focuses on solving high-throughput log ingestion, large-scale data processing, cost-efficient storage, and low-latency query execution within a distributed systems environment to support mission-critical infrastructure at massive scale for both internal teams and global customers.
