As a Principal Platform Software Engineer on the Oracle Kubernetes Engine team, you will design, develop, test, deploy, and operate software that manages, upgrades, and provisions Kubernetes clusters across OCI regions. What you'll do

Design, develop, test, deploy, and operate features for the Oracle Kubernetes Engine and related cloud services.
Build scalable distributed systems to provision, upgrade, and manage Kubernetes clusters across OCI regions.
Improve the reliability, scalability, performance, and operational efficiency of managed Kubernetes services.
Develop automation tools, testing frameworks, and developer productivity tools to enhance service quality.
Debug complex production issues involving Kubernetes, networking, compute, storage, and infrastructure layers.
Take end-to-end ownership of features from initial design and implementation through production operations.
Participate in technical design discussions, code reviews, and operational review initiatives.

What we're looking for

BS/MS in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent practical experience.
6+ years of experience building and operating production software systems, preferably distributed systems or cloud services.
Strong programming experience in Java or Go.
Strong fundamentals in data structures, algorithms, operating systems, networking, and distributed systems.
Good understanding of Kubernetes fundamentals and experience with containers, Docker, and related cloud-native technologies.
Experience with CI/CD systems, automated testing, and modern software development practices.
Experience using AI-assisted software development tools to improve engineering productivity while maintaining high standards for code quality.
Experience operating highly available production services, including on-call rotations and incident response.
Experience building multi-tenant cloud infrastructure or managed services (preferred).
Experience with Kubernetes platforms such as OKE, EKS, GKE, or AKS (preferred).
Experience with OCI or other public cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP (preferred).
Familiarity with Kubernetes internals, controllers/operators, and cluster lifecycle management (preferred).
Experience with observability platforms including logging, metrics, and tracing (preferred).
Experience developing automation, developer productivity tools, or operational tooling (preferred).
Experience contributing to open-source software or cloud-native communities (preferred).
