As a Principal Platform Software Engineer, you will join the engineering team building the Oracle Managed Kubernetes platform at Oracle Cloud Infrastructure. What you'll do

Lead the evolution of middleware patterns and runtimes to standardize interoperability across the platform at scale.
Define and enforce versioning, deprecation, and rollout strategies to minimize downstream impacts.
Establish shared observability baselines, including SLOs and error budgets, for multiple services.
Design and develop high-performance software features while ensuring adherence to architectural standards.
Conduct code reviews and provide technical coaching to junior engineers on system design and best practices.
Troubleshoot and resolve complex issues related to API functionality, integration, and performance optimization.
Implement secure coding practices and manage systems for critical updates, patching, and automated testing.
Participate in the hiring process by interviewing candidates and providing recommendations for the engineering team.

What we're looking for

Must have 6 to 10+ years of experience in software engineering.
Must be able to read, write, and speak English.
Experience with Kubernetes and containerized applications is required for the OMK platform.
Ability to lead design discussions, roadmap reviews, and technical coaching for junior engineers.
Proficiency in developing scalable software solutions, including API versioning and performance optimization.
Expertise in implementing secure coding practices and ensuring adherence to architectural standards.
Experience with system maintenance, automated testing, and observability (SLOs, error budgets).
Ability to manage complex projects, coordinate tasks across teams, and collaborate with stakeholders.
