What you'll do

Lead cross-team evolution of middleware patterns and runtimes to standardize interoperability at scale.
Define and enforce versioning, deprecation, and rollout strategies to minimize downstream system breaks.
Establish shared observability baselines, including SLOs and error budgets, across multiple services.
Design and implement complex performance optimization and scalability strategies in software architecture.
Conduct deep troubleshooting and debugging of complex issues related to API functionality and integration.
Develop migration guides and adoption playbooks to improve ecosystem consistency and developer experience.
Provide technical guidance, coaching, and code reviews to less experienced engineers.
Implement secure coding practices and manage system maintenance for critical security patches.

What we're looking for

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience.
5+ years of experience shipping services software.
Strong knowledge of data structures, algorithms, operating systems, and distributed systems fundamentals.
Proficiency with networking protocols (TCP/IP, HTTP) and standard network architectures.
Knowledge of Internet protocols including REST, SSL, and HTTP.
Strong understanding of databases, NoSQL systems, storage, and distributed persistence technologies.
Experience with Java, Python, Kafka, Kubernetes, and Terraform.
Proven ability to troubleshoot, perform performance tuning, and debug complex software issues.
