Principal Database Developer

What you'll do

• Develop high-quality database applications for the financial trading industry using Oracle PL/SQL.
• Write stored procedures, triggers, functions, views, and manage user privileges within RDBMS environments.
• Own architecture decisions for database components to ensure alignment with overall application architecture.
• Build reusable database utility components and frameworks to improve developer productivity and consistency.
• Optimize the performance of stored procedures and database objects through query tuning and indexing strategies.
• Execute ETL processes to load large volumes of data at high speeds using tools like SQL Loader.
• Lead end-to-end database development for mission-critical applications while mentoring other developers.
• Coordinate with DevOps and infrastructure teams to manage automation, deployment pipelines, and environment readiness.

What we're looking for

• 7+ years of hands-on experience as an Oracle PL/SQL developer.
• Strong RDBMS skills including SQL querying, stored procedures, triggers, functions, views, and privilege management.
• Experience in database modeling and performance tuning through query tuning, indexing, and execution-plan analysis.
• Knowledge of ETL processes to load large volumes of data at speed.
• Ability to lead technical discussions, mentor developers, and own architecture decisions for database components.
• Strong data analysis, problem-solving, and design skills in a collaborative team environment.
• Experience working with teams in Agile methodology.
• Knowledge of Core Java, Python, Control-M (preferred); AWS Cloud experience (preferred); 5+ years in the financial industry (preferred).
