Principal Architect, Executive Director: Solution Architecture

What you'll do

• Translate business strategy into pragmatic solution roadmaps and reference architectures.
• Drive architecture decisions balancing resilience, scalability, latency, cost, risk, and time-to-market.
• Establish and enforce design principles, patterns, and guardrails across portfolios.
• Implement reuse-first AI-enabled engineering patterns and governance across SDLC and toolchain practices.
• Chair Architecture Review Boards to ensure compliance with enterprise standards and regulatory obligations.
• Own target and transitional architectures for complex, multi-region systems across various domains.
• Provide hands-on oversight and coaching to domain architects and engineering leads on complex design issues.
• Apply enterprise-authorized AI capabilities to accelerate architecture analysis and roadmap development.

What we're looking for

• Formal training or certification on software engineering concepts and 10+ years of applied experience.
• Proven track record leading architecture for large, distributed, mission-critical systems with 24x7 operations and high resiliency targets.
• Deep expertise in microservices, event-driven/streaming architectures, API-led connectivity, data mesh/lakehouse, CQRS, and domain-driven design.
• Experience with hyperscale cloud platforms (AWS/Azure/GCP), Kubernetes, service mesh, CI/CD, IaC, observability, and platform engineering.
• Security and resiliency expertise in zero trust, secrets management, identity, encryption, chaos engineering, disaster recovery, and site reliability.
• Experience with messaging, APIs, SOA-to-microservices transitions, mainframe integration, and strangler-fig approaches.
• Executive presence with the ability to simplify complexity and influence outcomes across senior business and technology stakeholders.
• Demonstrated experience applying enterprise-authorized AI capabilities within architecture and engineering workflows with strong validation habits.
• Relevant certifications such as AWS/Azure/GCP Architect, TOGAF, CISSP, or SAFe (preferred).
• Experience in global financial services and regulated environments (preferred).
• Hands-on pragmatism to review designs and code-level artifacts while maintaining a strategic lens (preferred).
• Experience with platform engineering, green software, and confidential computing (preferred).
• Strong knowledge of Kafka/Pulsar, batch analytics, MLOps, model governance, and responsible AI patterns (preferred).
• Familiarity with compliance regimes (e.g., EBA, PRA, OCC, MAS) and architecture support for regulatory requirements (preferred).
