The Senior Principal Architect, Data & Analytics Services joins the Corporate Data & Analytics Services team to develop high-quality architecture solutions for software applications and platform products. This role owns the target-state architecture for platforms spanning Reference Data, KYC, and Common Trade and Position Data, supporting firmwide finance and risk processing. Key responsibilities include driving modernization roadmaps, establishing architecture governance, and overseeing data risk management. The position requires expertise in data mesh, lakehouse, canonical data modeling, domain-driven design, event-driven architectures, and API-led connectivity. Candidates must utilize AWS, cloud-native platforms, Kafka, Databricks, Spark, and Snowflake. Additionally, the role involves shaping AI and Generative AI strategies, including LLM integration patterns and MLOps, while ensuring compliance with regulatory obligations, security standards, and multi-region resiliency requirements.
Own and maintain target-state and transitional architectures for Reference Data, KYC, and Common Trade and Position Data platforms.
Lead architecture governance by establishing design principles, guardrails, and review processes across the CDAS tower.
Drive the modernization roadmap for critical data applications to balance technical debt, scalability, cost, and time-to-market.
Provide hands-on oversight and coaching to domain architects and engineering leads on complex design challenges.
Ensure all platforms comply with firmwide data governance, regulatory obligations, security standards, and multi-region resiliency requirements.
Establish reuse-first AI-enabled engineering patterns and portfolio-level guardrails for AI-assisted workflows across the SDLC.
Act as the primary technical interface with senior leaders and business stakeholders to influence technology investment decisions.
Translate complex technical trends and issues into strategic insights for leadership to drive firmwide innovation.
What we're looking for
Formal training or certification in architecture and software engineering concepts.
10+ years of applied experience in architecture and software engineering.
7+ years of experience leading architecture for large-scale, mission-critical data platforms in complex, regulated environments.
Deep expertise in data architecture patterns including data mesh, lakehouse, canonical data modeling, domain-driven design, event-driven, and streaming architectures.
Strong knowledge of AWS, cloud-native platforms, container orchestration, CI/CD, IaC, observability, and platform engineering practices.
Experience with real-time and batch data processing technologies such as Kafka, Databricks, Spark, or Snowflake.
Experience shaping and executing AI and Generative AI strategy, including LLM integration, MLOps, and model governance.
Experience in global financial services and regulated environments (preferred).
Relevant certifications such as AWS Solutions Architect Professional, TOGAF, or CISSP (preferred).
