Principal Additive Manufacturing Engineer

What you'll do

• Lead manufacturing engineering activities for new product introduction programs involving metal additive manufacturing technologies.
• Integrate Design for Manufacturability (DFM) and Design for Additive Manufacturing (DfAM) principles into product development decisions.
• Manage the full NPI lifecycle from initial feasibility and prototype builds to process validation and product launch.
• Develop, optimize, and scale metal additive manufacturing processes to meet quality, compliance, and production capacity requirements.
• Define manufacturing methods, equipment specifications, inspection strategies, and critical process parameters for new products.
• Execute equipment qualification and process validation activities including IQ, OQ, PQ, and risk management tools like PFMEA.
• Conduct root cause investigations and implement corrective actions to resolve development and early production issues.
• Author and maintain technical documentation including protocols, reports, procedures, and engineering change records.

What we're looking for

• A Bachelor's degree with 7 years experience, a Master's with 5 years, or a PhD with 3 years is required.
• A Bachelor's or Master's degree in Engineering, Materials Science, or a related field is preferred.
• Experience in manufacturing engineering, process engineering, or new product introduction is preferred.
• Experience with metal additive manufacturing in development or production environments is preferred.
• Experience with DfAM and DfM principles is preferred.
• Experience with process validation, equipment qualification, and risk management in regulated environments is preferred.
• Experience in medical device manufacturing is preferred.
• Work authorization at the time of hire and for the duration of employment.
