Power Engineer

What you'll do

• Develop energy models for power targets, "What-if" analysis, and early power estimation.
• Collaborate with micro-architecture teams to improve power efficiency without compromising performance.
• Perform RTL power analysis and implement reduction strategies in coordination with designers.
• Validate power reduction changes within the comprehensive power, performance, and area (PPA) space.
• Develop heuristics and machine learning methods to accelerate power analysis on large datasets.
• Create a power data visualization platform using Python, HTML, and object-oriented programming.
• Instrument RTL and test benches to extract key energy metrics and counts.
• Use logic analyzer tools to inspect design waveforms and validate power reduction changes.

What we're looking for

• Master's degree or foreign equivalent in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field.
• Experience using Python to automate power data collection and extract optimization insights.
• Experience using HTML and object-oriented programming languages to create power data visualization platforms.
• Ability to use mathematical methods to analyze power data and identify inefficiencies.
• Experience using logic analyzer tools to inspect design waveforms and validate power reduction changes.
• Experience using machine learning methods to accelerate feature extraction from large datasets.
• Knowledge of computer architecture to optimize designs within the performance, power, and area space.
• Proficiency in VHDL or Verilog to realize microprocessor functionalities like datapath, instruction control, and cache hierarchies.
• Experience using FPGA and CAD tools to build silicon prototypes of large digital systems.
