Power Engineer

As a Power Engineer, you will drive the budgeting, measurement, and analysis of overall CPU power while collaborating with Micro-architects, RTL, physical designers, and library teams to identify reduction opportunities. You will define traces and metrics for various use cases, optimize design operating points, and partner with CAD tools to improve power efficiency. Your daily work involves modeling CPU contributions, managing power budgets, and creating projections across different operating scenarios. To succeed, you must utilize Synopsys Prime Power for analysis, perform RTL-based power evaluation, and manage pre-silicon dynamic and leakage power convergence including clocking structures and data path optimization. You will also write scripts to automate engineering workflows. The role focuses on solving complex power efficiency challenges within CPU microarchitecture and hardware design implementation to ensure systems meet specific power targets.
