TL;DR · Power Engineer
As a Power Engineer, you will join the hardware team to resolve complex use-cases through simulation and provide power projections for future projects based on detailed analysis. You will collaborate with architects, design teams, and logic teams to model SOC power, determine functionality for power reduction, and develop IP power models to inform performance, power, and area trade-offs. Your daily work involves creating test cases within the design verification environment and improving modeling by understanding software and system-level interactions. Required technical skills include running Synopsys PTPX data analysis, utilizing PrimePower RTL or PowerArtist tools, writing Verilog for test bench code, and using Python or Perl for flow enhancement. You must also navigate synthesis flows, clock constraints, physical design, and silicon characterization to ensure modeling accuracy across various frequency and voltage combinations.
