As a senior member of the Payload Integration and Test team for Amazon Leo, you will manage integration and test activities for satellite payloads, ground gateways, and customer terminals. Your daily work involves collaborating with hardware and software teams to reproduce on-orbit problems in a lab environment while automating test execution and analysis. The role requires proficiency in Python scripting, Linux systems, and networking protocols like DNS, DHCP, and TCP. You will also utilize RF lab equipment including VNAs, power meters, spectrum analyzers, and vector signal generators. This position addresses the technical challenge of providing low-latency, high-speed broadband connectivity through a satellite constellation.

What you'll do

Execute end-to-end functional and performance testing for satellites, ground gateways, and customer terminals.
Define test cases and campaigns by collaborating with hardware and software engineering teams.
Troubleshoot complex issues including MAC to application layer throughput degradation and packet loss.
Reproduce on-orbit functional and performance issues within a laboratory environment.
Integrate new features into the lab using specialized test equipment and vendor tools.
Automate test execution and data analysis to improve overall testing efficiency.
Draft and maintain high-quality documentation including verification matrices and status tracking.

What we're looking for

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or equivalent work experience.
Experience with Linux, basic networking skills, and RF lab equipment configuration.
5+ years of satellite and/or cellular lab testing experience.
Experience with test development in Python or similar language.
Master's degree or above in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related fields (preferred).
Experience in software development, network protocols like DNS/DHCP/TCP, Linux, and networking protocols (preferred).
Experience with RF lab equipment including VNA, power meters, spectrum analyzers, and vector signal generators (preferred).
Experience with SQL databases, AWS services, and Python scripting proficiency (preferred).
Must be a U.S. citizen, national, permanent resident, or lawfully admitted as a refugee or granted asylum for export control purposes.
