Senior Optical Communication Engineer

What you'll do

• Define optical communication system requirements and architecture for the satellite constellation.
• Develop and optimize hardware and software components for real-time communication and efficient resource utilization.
• Implement and test product designs to demonstrate functional and performance capabilities.
• Integrate software and hardware components to ensure seamless interaction between systems.
• Debug and troubleshoot hardware and software integration issues to resolve technical anomalies.
• Design and execute test plans to validate the functionality, performance, and security of optical systems.
• Lead the design and implementation of unique solutions to integrate with Amazon Leo products and customer terminals.

What we're looking for

• Bachelor's degree in engineering, physics, or equivalent.
• 8+ years of experience designing and developing optical systems.
• 4+ years of experience with free space optical communication systems.
• Must be a U.S. citizen.
• Must be able to obtain and maintain a TS/SCI security clearance.
• Master's degree or above in engineering, physics, or equivalent (preferred).
• 8+ years working on free space optical communication systems (preferred).
• 4+ years of system engineering experience (preferred).
