As an Optical Network Engineer, Inter-satellite Link Avionics, you will join the hardware development team to design, prototype, and characterize hardware supporting high-speed optical communication links. Your daily responsibilities include collaborating with vendors to qualify commercial off-the-shelf components, driving custom component development for reliable systems, leading design verification and qualification testing, and automating optical test plans to qualify modules. You will also analyze large volumes of data to identify risks and troubleshoot issues to deliver optical inter-satellite links. The role requires expertise in optical communication systems, transceivers, IEEE standards, and transceiver MSAs. Technical skills include high-speed characterization using electrical probe stations, oscilloscopes, network analyzers, and spectrum analyzers. You will also utilize knowledge of internet routing protocols and develop test scripts for optics validation within the context of inter-satellite link technology.
